Best Ways To Transport Your ATV

Sometimes the hardest part about your ATV is getting it to the prime locations to ride. Thats why we are here to help

Atvs and the great outdoors, as good together and PB&J. Riding your ATV through whatever terrain you enjoy can be as easy as walking out your front door, or as difficult as hauling the beast out to a prime location. We want to chat a little bit about hauling and what your options are.

First Things First:

How many ATVs do you have or plan to have in the future?  

A little bit of planning is worth its weight in gold for this. If you plan on expanding your fleet, it’s worth it to invest into a bigger transportation method. If you have a single ATV then there are a few more options that may be more cost effective.

What kind of vehicle do you have?

If you have an SUV then you’re kind of pigeonholed into a single option, if you have a truck then you are a few more options. No matter what your options are though make sure your vehicle’s towing weight is kosher for the ATV + Hauling method (trailer/platform) + any gear you bring.

So what are your options?

Suv? Or have a lot of stuff to bring ? Best option: Trailor

Once again, make sure your vehicle can tow the weight that you are going to put on it. Trailers allow for you to tow multiple ATVs at a time and still have room to spare.  The only thing about these guys is that you will need additional insurance and registration, don’t forget it.

Have a truck? You have a couple of options

You can use a trailer, put your ATV on the bed of your truck, or you can attach a platform to the bed of your truck. Each one of these has its benefits and drawbacks.

Trailers – allows you to have more space for any additional gear you may need in the bed of your truck. Drawback- it can cost a pretty penny to get one, and you need to get insurance and additional insurance for it.

Putting it in your truck bed- this is very cost effective, all you need to do is buy the ramps to get it there which are very reasonably priced (started out at around $70.00 and go up from there). Make sure you attach it securely!!!! Drawback- you lose storage space, so you can’t bring as much on the trip

Adding a platform- This solves the issue of space. The platform is raised above your truck bed and can store multiple ATVs but still gives you room to store items in the bed of your truck. Some of them even come with hydraulic systems which make for easy loading/unloading. Drawback- They are expensive and need to be installed onto your truck
